2019 Delegation of Taiwan Tech for Innovation Indonesia Visit
Taiwan is still looking forward to the first unicorn of start-up. There are already four unicorn companies in Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the most active and dynamic countries for innovation in Asia. As Lin, the founder of AppWorks said, the innovation ecosphere in Indonesia grows faster than Taiwan. Whether it is to learn the development process of Indonesia's start-up eco-sphere, or to explore innovation markets in Indonesia, Indonesia is clearly an important partner of Taiwan.
Although Indonesia's innovation market is rapid growth, the demand for suitable talents has become a hot potato, and the talent gap has made international companies' investment hesitant. Recruitment of talents is bound to become one of the keys in the Indonesian market. It is even more challenge to find software engineering background or digital marketing talents, especially the local talents, which can help the start-up businesses to meet the local demand in Indonesian market.
Talent is the most important topic for the cooperation between Taiwan Tech and its partners, and it is also the key to industry development. Taiwan University of Science and Technology has most Indonesian alumni and has cultivated Indonesian talents for more than 15 years. This Indonesian innovation industry tour organized by the Taiwan Tech GLORIA and the Industry 4.0 Center. It aims to understand the current situation of Indonesia's innovation industry development and cooperation opportunities as same as the objectives of New Southbound Policy.
